For this month’s edition of Inside UKLASH, we sit down with our incredibly talented Creative Lead, Chloe. As one of the newer members of the team, Chloe opens up about her journey into the creative world, what led her to UKLASH, and her five top tips for building a successful creative career.

From overcoming creative blocks to finding inspiration in everyday moments, Chloe shares real-world advice for anyone looking to grow and thrive in the creative industry.
At UKLASH, we believe creativity isn’t just a skill, it’s a mindset. And Chloe embodies that perfectly, showing how passion, curiosity, and resilience can transform ideas into impact.
So with that, here it is!

1 - “try to never stamp out the creative streak you have as a kid”

I honestly believe everyone is creative in some way, it’s just about learning which way to use it. As a child I was constantly making things out of whatever I could find - toilet roll holders, egg cartons, glittery Actimel pots (which still live on my mum’s Christmas tree). I loved the process of turning everyday bits and pieces into something new.
As I got older, that love for making things naturally evolved into a curiosity about design. I studied Fine Art and Graphic Design at A-Level, then went on to do a foundation course which basically felt like arts and crafts for adults. That’s where I really started to connect the dots between art, design and photography. It made me think more about the bigger picture by not just creating something that looks good, but understanding the full creative process and how ideas come to life.

2 - “Take Ideas from anywhere”

Honestly, [creative blocks] happen all the time and I think that’s normal. It’s impossible to be switched on creatively 24/7, which is why creative jobs rarely fit neatly into a 9-5 schedule. Ideas can come from anywhere, doing the food shop and noticing packaging design, people watching on the train, or walking past a shop window and clocking how colours or copy are paired together.
That said it can also feel overwhelming at times. When I hit a creative block, I try to strip everything back to basics, what’s the purpose, what’s the goal, and what words or visuals instantly come to mind? It’s like a mini mind-map session with myself. And honestly, leaning on teammates is a huge part of it too. Creativity should always be collaborative. It’s so easy to get stuck in your own head, but just bouncing thoughts around with others can spark so many new ideas.

3 - “You can’t do it alone.”

I love working with different teams because everyone brings their own angle, for example social sees one thing, ecom sees another, and it all feeds into the bigger picture. For me it’s all about communication and looping people in early so we can bounce ideas around and build something together. The strongest creative always comes from mixing creativity with strategy, and you can’t do that alone.

4 - “stay curious and open to change”

I think staying curious and open to change is so important, especially with how fast everything in the creative world moves. New tools and tech pop up constantly, and the people who do well are the ones who aren’t scared to try them. AI’s a good example, everyone jokes about it taking our jobs but really it’s about using it to make what we already do even better. Overall, being open minded, adaptable, and willing to experiment goes a long way. The industry moves fast, so you kind of have to move with it!

5 - “try not to force creativity”

If something isn’t flowing I switch to something else and come back with fresh eyes. I also find it really helpful to ask someone outside the project who has no context to anything really, like someone outside of my team or even a friend. When you’re too close to something it’s easy to overcomplicate it and a different perspective (or just talking about it out loud) can make everything click.

Using Figma For Design Collaboration

Chloe’s journey is a reminder that creativity is never a straight line. It is shaped by curiosity, collaboration, and the confidence to keep experimenting even when the ideas feel slow to arrive. Her five tips offer both reassurance and inspiration for anyone carving out their own creative path, whether you are just starting out or refining your craft years in.

At UKLASH, we believe growth happens when you stay open, stay playful, and trust the process. Chloe shows us that the most meaningful work comes from blending passion with perspective, and from surrounding yourself with people who help spark that next great idea.
